How good were we! The team that left New Zealand to compete at the IAAF world cross-country championships in Morocco in 1975 is to this day simply the greatest … ever. By that I mean the world over and I challenge anyone to come up with anything even close.
The men’s team won gold and included the great John Walker, Jack Foster and Dick Quax. Lorraine Moller, Heather Thomson and Anne Audain were also household names at the time and didn’t disappoint. They won the women’s team silver medal to cap off one of our greatest athletic achievements.
